Hi friends.

I want to start off by saying thanks to everyone who has generously supported me financially and in prayer. I’ll be needing a lot of the latter in the coming months. My mom decided to book us a tour (the Asian-America Tour!) to see the Grand Canyon, so right now I’m currently updating from Laughlin, Nevada.

If you didn’t know, I’ve made my way back to California for a few weeks to hang out with my family and friends until June 20th. The free time has really given me a chance to do some of the things I was planning to do; such as getting my travel shots, preparing mentally and spiritually for this trip, and (of course) keeping all of you updated with this blog.

After being gone for a year, coming home feels like there are tons of things to do. Within 30 minutes (driving), you can go to the beach, snowboarding, hiking, and not to mention the various restaurants. By and large, I think focusing on a country like Cambodia is a hard thing to do when we are living in such a comfortable and in some ways, self-absorbed society. If it doesn’t affect me, does it even matter? If its happening half way around the world, should I even care? How many of you would say that you thought daily about the recent catastrophes in Myanmar (Burma) or earthquake in China? There is certainly a disconnect with things we don’t experience or see daily. Unfortunately, this disconnect is happening as I try to prepare for Cambodia.

I’m hoping that you guys could just continue to pray for the country, the missionaries already there, and for our team that will be going this summer.  Despite the impoverish condition these people live in, there is nothing more impoverish (and the bible states as being dead) than an man’s condition of sin. In Ephesians, it states that we are dead in our sin and trespasses.  In no way do I want to diminish such poor conditions, but it should only accentuate the magnitude of being bankrupt in our fallen condition before a Holy and just God.  The gospel must go forth!

Until next time.

Its late, but still done. I finally passed out the first batch of support letters to those closes to me, the local church here in Baton Rouge.

Just in case you are wondering, this blog will be updating news on my trip this summer to Cambodia between July 17th to July 31st. I’ll try to update as much as possible to give you information on anything that develops before or during the trip.

So if you are reading this, I hope that you can pray for me!
